Taking birth in this world may not be my right. But to live is my right because I am already born and have to live my life span. Irrespective of geographical identity, I want to live peacefully and prosperously. If I have to live peacefully, I need security, serenity of atmosphere conducive for leading such a life and facilities what in finer terms may be called infrastructure. It is not enough if I have a roof over my head, clothes to cover myself and food to sustain life. I need more – a collective society where I care for others and others care for me. Who is going to give me all these?
Every human being on this world knows that a society has already been created. A ready made society is available on birth. Depending upon one’s fate or destiny, he or she shall live in a particular part of the world. That ready made society is called the nation in which one takes his birth.
I expect to get my personal works done at various levels of administration – private or public – without spending grease currency in other words bribe. There shall not be any thefts, murders, lootings, violence, terror acts. Every one lives happily, smiling, calm and cool minding his business and helping other needy persons. Activities, trading, commerce and dealings of some people shall be complementary and supplementary to others. I shall not face or fear thefts, personal wrongs and violence. So, I need social security. Police need to take care of this aspect of my life. Food shall be available to me according to my requirement at affordable cost. I am ready to work and earn money. I am willing to spend the hard earned money to purchase or rent a house, buy clothes and grocery. Depending upon my spending power, I plan to purchase a television, a car, a spacious villa with garden, appoint cooks and housemaids and lead a fanciful luxurious life a la carte.
For my luxurious living all the infrastructure are required – roads and bridges, land, water and air communication facilities, leisure vistas like parks, cinemas, restaurants, dance clubs, sports and recreation areas and what not.
I pre-suppose existence of employer, employment, monthly compensation for work, recognition to my merit, encouragement thereof, health care for each and every one coupled with friendly, helpful and smiling neighbours and citizenry and government authorities.
I shall not be made to run from pillar to post, expending several footwear in the process for obtaining admission to educational institutions whether for me or for my children, for obtaining government approvals for construction of a house, for seeking trade permits, licenses, sanctions of passport or visa, allotment of land or house, registration thereof and seeking justice if need be. I shall not be charged privately by officials or middlemen – I mean bribery – to acquisitions or requisitions for grants.
There shall not be denial of opportunity for my education in any faculty I chose. I shall have an option to choose my field of education without any minimum grade being insisted upon for entry into such a course. Of course, I shall be examined at the end of the course and awarded grade or degree only if I come out successful in accordance with the logically set parameters.
Am I wrong in expecting such a society? No I am not. Do I have a right to demand creation of such a society? If not demand, I should at least have real opportunities to create one.
Quality shall be the watchword in each and every sphere of life whether employment, education, promotion, sanctions or screenings for any purpose. My caste, region, religion, mother-tongue, colour of my body etc., shall never be the criterion for any part of my life.
Who should create such a society? Of course, regional governments made up of people working in it. Who shall rule the region and facilitate the governments to perform their duties – the elected representatives in democratic countries and monarchs in imperialistic countries.
In any type of government whether democratic or imperialistic, the basic components are human beings, sources and resources. The world has all these components in plenty but not a model society of my dream. Why?
The citizen may make this world a heaven or hell to live in. However, their personal and social environments make them what they are.
We have the man power, the rulers, the treasure, sources and resources to achieve what we need. Because corruption, nepotism, laziness, crooked mentality, cruelty and awkward intelligence find a place in the society in considerable measure. So, we do not have a model society. But we can have one if we mind.
If all of us are sincere to our duties, afraid of punishment for wrongs, concerned for our happy living, shed anger, vengeance, cheating, cunningness, negative thinking, work hard and breed in ourselves helping nature, tolerance, civilized culture sure a day would soon come where we can be proud of our life and our model society.
Continuation of this blog would be on the role of law in mitigating evils of our society.

Contributor's Note
In these days of violence, terrorism, naxalism and pro-active crimes, one needs to know what society he should dream of and is liable to live in.
